You’ll learn more from our faculty. Most art programs lean heavily on graduate assistants to teach their courses. At ÑDz©ÌåÓýapp, professors teach 100 percent of your art courses. They are professional educators, artists and art historians whose expertise will hone your knowledge, skills and creativity.
You’ll get more breadth. We offer courses in traditional media, such as drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics and photography, as well as digital design, 3-D printing, laser cutting and more.
You’ll be exposed to the best artists working today. Our visiting artists do more than lecture. They meet with students individually to provide guidance on technique and content. And the NWU Art Club leads trips to major galleries and museums across the country. Recent destinations include Chicago, Minneapolis, Kansas City and New York.
Art faculty

Faculty members engage in a wide range of disciplines, including drawing, painting, ceramics, metalsmithing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, book arts, digital media and art history. Their research and creative practices explore the intersection of time and modernity, visualizing forgotten ancestral lineages, the parallels between royal spectacle and rulers’ images, and the complexities of specificity, perspective and distance in visual perception. With their diverse interests and backgrounds, our faculty support the technical, aesthetic and conceptual aspects of art making, fostering a comprehensive learning experience through exhibitions, publications and creative collaborations.
